HBKU and Siemens sign MoU for scholarships in Qatar

Doha: Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) a member of Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development (QF) and Siemens have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide scholarships for exceptional students who are majoring in the fields of electrical engineering mechanical engineering business administration computer science and information systems.

At a signing ceremony which took place at the HBKU Student Center President of HBKU Dr Ahmad Hasnah and CEO of Siemens in Qatar Fatih Sakiz signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Also in attendance was senior management from both organizations.

"Our participation in the HBKU scholarship program underlines our long-term commitment to developing exceptional talent in Qatar" said Fatih Sakiz CEO Siemens Qatar. "Siemens has been a development partner to Qatar for more than 40 years and we are proud to be continuing our support of the country’s National Vision 2030 with this education initiative".

HBKU Scholarship programme was designed to nurture potential recognize excellence and support students studying at HBKU and its partner universities. Committed to developing local and international partnerships towards an enhanced educational system in Qatar HBKU places inestimable value on collaboration among institutions communities and industries and is proud to have a wide-range of partnerships both in Qatar and worldwide.

Commenting on the value of the program and the support of Siemens Dr Hasnah said: "Thanks to the support of organizations such as Siemens the HBKU Scholarship program is able to provide quality education opportunities for talented students interested in furthering their studies in Education City. By supporting exceptional students we hope they will be a source of positive impact on their communities and set an example for others who would like to unlock their potential and further their studies".
