Qatar- MoI's Metrash2 app bags top GCC award

DOHA: Metrash2 application of the Ministry of Interior developed by its General Directorate of Information Systems has won the Best Smart Services Mobile Application award among GCC countries.

The award was announced during the fourth GCC e-Government Award Conference and Exhibition 2015 in Bahrain on November 25 and 26.

It was presented by Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain to Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali Al Maliki Assistant Director Information Systems Department during a session on the sidelines.

The ministry participated in the conference and exhibition and introduced the app which provides over 100 services to the public.

The award marks yet another achievement for the ministry and is in line with the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy through the use of technology and the Internet to enhance service efficiency.

The app is used by over 190000 registered users with more than 8000 transactions daily.

This award is presented to GCC government authorities which provide electronic information and services to the public through the Internet the ministry said in a statement.
