Abu Dhabi s Senaat's celebrates founding father's legacy

ABU DHABI 27th November 2015 (WAM) --- Senaat one of the largest industrial holding companies in the UAE has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation a non-profit organisation to inaugurate "I am Zayed" to commemorate the start of the UAE National Day festivities and Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival.

The unique initiative brings together 44 Emiratis named Zayed from across the nation each representing a year of the UAE's union since 1971. Festival visitors will have the opportunity to watch videos at Senaat's tent of each Zayed and hear their personal unique stories and the inspiration they derive from being named after the UAE's first President.

Commenting on the initiative Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri Acting CEO of Senaat said "I am Zayed is a clear portrayal of the UAE's ability to successfully merge its historical traditions such as storytelling with modern technologies. We've partnered with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation to create a distinctive experience that celebrates and strengthens our link to our founding father an icon who guided our nation's passion and commitment to preserving Emirati culture and heritage."

He added "Senaat's portfolio companies have solidified their role as leading players within the UAE's economic diversification vision and our strong presence at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival is a continuation of our efforts in creating a harmonious Emirati community proud of its heritage and always looking forward to further success."

Visitors to the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival are invited to participate in this exhibition in two ways. The first is for visitors named Zayed where their pictures will be taken and added next to the 44 original participants. The second is open for the public who are invited to take pictures of themselves with someone called Zayed and post them on Instagram under the hashtag #IAmWithZayed.

Senaat is participating in Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival as a gold sponsor. Its portfolio companies Al Foah the world's largest date company and Aghtia one of the UAE's leading food and beverage groups will also be present at the festival and will display their wide range of UAE-made products.

The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival is held in Al Wathba between 19 November-12 December 2015. It features a range of cultural and family-oriented activities including Emirati folk arts interactive craftsman workshops village markets and other traditional activities.
