ISIL claims responsibility for deadly Shiite mosque attack in Bangladesh


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for a lethal attack on a northern Bangladesh mosque US-based extremist monitoring service SITE Intelligence Group said.

The attack took place on Thursday evening. Gunmen shot worshipers at the Shiite mosque in the northern town of Bogra during
prayers killing one and injuring three.

The Islamic State Sunni militant group has taken over large parts of Syria and Iraq last year. The violent extremist group has many affiliated groups operating around the world.

In September police in Bangladesh investigated the killing of an Italian aid worker after ISIL claimed responsibility.
