Hundreds register for check-up at Gate Mall's Kulluna booth

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Gate Mall has hosted the Kulluna for a Healthy Heart campaign, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), to promote cardiac health among its visitors and staff members.
A special booth was set up on the ground floor, at the mall's north entrance, to provide visitors with free consultation and check-up, including blood cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure.
The six-day campaign witnessed a steady number of visitors each day, with more than 1,500 people registered at the booth. Supported by the Kulluna Healthy Heart team, the campaign was facilitated by a team of multidisciplinary professionals from HMC and was sponsored by ConocoPhillips.
Commenting on the campaign, Ibrahim Bitar, managing director of The Gate Mall, said: "We have hosted the Kulluna campaign, as part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR), to promote the general well-being of the community. This year's Kulluna campaign focused on the prevention of heart diseases and highlighted the behaviours, lifestyle and risk factors that contribute to heart-related illnesses such as smoking, obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes."
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and women in Qatar. The risk of heart disease is particularly high for men after age 45 and for women after age 55.
Through the Kulluna campaign, The Gate Mall aimed to inspire its staff and guests to make healthier lifestyle choices and educate them on preventive measures to combat heart diseases.
