Qatar- Pink Month at Birla Public School

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Dr. Muneer Saeed Associate Consultant General Surgeon at Al Ahli Hospital visited the school to interact on Cancer awareness

Doha: Birla Public School observed the month of October as the month of Cancer Awareness.

Cancer Awareness and the contribution of student community were the subjects for everyday Life Skill lessons for the month. The posters on the class bulletin boards centred on cancer. Teachers of international curriculum wore pink dress and pink wrist band on Sunday 18th October 2015 showing their solidarity for cancer prevention. All Male staff of CBSE – I have been encouraged to be a part of November during which they would not have haircut nor shave as a mark of their resolve to fight cancer.

A seminar was organized in the Basant Kumar Birla Auditorium for Dads and Sons on Cancer Awareness when Dr. Muneer Saeed Associate Consultant General Surgeon at Al Ahli Hospital gave a talk on cancer awareness.

In the way of giving a fitting end to the month on cancer awareness students of grade 10 arranged a charity sale and the funds raised was donated to the Cancer Society.
