(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Washington Nov.25 (Petra)-- US Vice President Joe Biden late Tuesday discussed in a telephone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi the need to continue international cooperation to counter the Daesh terrorist group.
The Vice President noted the Iraqi ongoing economic and security challenges and the importance of ensuring continued progress against Daesh particularly in Ramadi according to a White House statement.
Biden also welcomed Iraq's efforts in coordination with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to carry out economic reforms for strengthening Iraq's financial security the statement added.
The statement stressed that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the strategic partnership between the United States and support the Iraqi government's efforts to restore its sovereignty.
