Jordan- Obama Erdogan discuss need to reduce tensions


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Washington Nov.25 (Petra)-- Untied States President Barack Obama discussed over the phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the need to reduce tensions with Russia after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane near the Turkish-Syrian border according to the White House.

The white house said in a statement that the two leaders "agreed on the importance of de-escalating the situation and pursuing arrangements to ensure that such incidents do not happen again." "President Obama said Turkey's right to defend its sovereignty was "supported by the United States and NATO" it added.
