Egypt- Foreign ministry coordinates with family of Paris attacks' victim

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Egyptian foreign ministry is in contact with the family of an Egyptian citizen who was killed in the Paris attacks on 13 November to secure compensation from the French government, the ministry spokesman said Monday.

Salah Emad Al-Gebaly was among the victims killed in at least six coordinated attacks on the French capital of Paris, which resulted in the death of at least 130 people.

Al-Gebaly was among the dozens who died in the Bataclan Theatre, where victims were either shot or died when three suicide attackers blew themselves up following a brief hostage situation.

Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the ministry is in contact with his family to secure the required documents to send to French authorities.

France has a victim compensation scheme that was established in 1986 as part of its strategy to fight terrorism.

The French foreign ministry said it provides compensation for all victims of any nationality, of terrorist acts perpetrated in France and to all French victims of terrorist acts perpetrated outside France.
