US economy grew faster than expected in third quarter


(MENAFN- AFP) The US economy grew more than expected in the third quarter, according to revised data from the Commerce Department on Tuesday.

In the July-to-September quarter, gross domestic product -- the broad measure of the economy's output of goods and services -- rose at an annual rate of 2.1 percent, stronger than the 1.5 percent pace initially estimated. GDP growth was stronger than analysts' projections, with the consensus at a 2.0 percent rate.
