China invests USD89b in clean energy over 2014


(MENAFN) China has spent a whopping USD89 billion in clean energy in 2014, which accounts as the biggest amount among 55 countries surveyed.

This year, China scored the highest at 2.29 on a 0-5 scale on the list of clean energy investment reflecting its commitment to a low-carbon future.

China added 35 GW of new renewable power volume on its own last year, more than the whole operating capacity in sub-Saharan Africa's 49 nations combined.

"China continues confidently to play a vital role in clean energy's evolution, not just in emerging markets but in all countries," stated the annual report.
