Kuwait Parliament Speaker Al Ghanim arrives in S. Arabia for GCC meeting

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH Nov 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim accompanied by MPs arrived in the Saudi capital on on Tuesday to partake in the 9th regular meeting of GCC consultative (shura) and legislative assemblies' chiefs due to begin in Riyadh on Wednesday.The Parliament Speaker and his delegation were received upon arrival by Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al-Alsheikh Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Kuwaiti embassy staff and senior GCC General Secretariat's officials.He is due to meet later on Tuesday Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abulaziz.The leading GCC legislators will hold their 9th meeting to be chaired by Al-Alsheikh Wednesday. Participants in the meeting will discuss annual report of the 8th meeting at this level and will be briefed about the GCC General Secretariat about the Council works (2015).Moreover the meeting tackles recommendations by the parliamentary and external ties committee prepared at a meeting at this junior level on November 15th. They essentially include topics of the draft agenda for today's meeting.Al-Ghanim's delegation includes MPs Ahmad Al-Gudaibi Dr. Ahmad Al-Aazmi and National Assembly Secretary General Allam Al-Kanderi.
