Bangladesh School Muscat showcases Oman's heritage

Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) marked the 45th National Day by organising a cultural programme.

The school decorated its premises with pictures of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and Oman's national flag a press release said. Iftakher ul Hasan Chowdhury chairman Board of Directors Bangladesh Schools was the chief guest at the event.

In his speech he paid homage to His Majesty the Sultan and expressed his gratitude to the sultanate. 'Oman is one of the most emerging countries of the world a place of peace place of humanity place to live and a place for all. It is a symbol of peace and prosperity not just in the Arab region but also in the whole world. His Majesty the Sultan is the sculptor of this great achievement.'

The event began with a recitation of verses from the Q'uran by Isam ul Usama. It was translated into English by Faisal Rana. In his welcome address Lt Col Mahmud ul Alam (retd) principal BSM said that His Majesty the Sultan is the architect of modern Oman and is a global icon of peace and prosperity. The event also saw the screening of a documentary on His Majesty the Sultan's leadership. Traditional Omani food was also served at the event.
