(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, Fayez Tarawneh, on Sunday received the British Oxfam Country Director in Jordan Geoffrey Poynter.

During the meeting, Tarawneh said Jordan, despite limited resources, has dealt with the Syrian crisis in line with its humanitarian role, to achieve peace, security and stability for the peoples of the region.

Tarawneh highlighted the burdens Jordan has to endure due to hosting 1.4 million Syrian refugees, which requires intensifying the international support, to be able to continue providing relief services to them.

Poynter said efforts exerted by Jordan and its various institutions to serve Syrian refugees and alleviate their suffering were internationally appreciated.
