Jordan- FM meets U.S. Senator


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Sunday, received U.S. Senator Brian Katz and discussed the strategic partnership between the two countries and continued coordination on various common issues and challenges.

The two sides reviewed the region's latest developments, regional and international efforts to counter the threat of terrorist organizations, and addressing them, in order to preserve the security and stability of the region and the world, as Judeh said Jordan has always been and will remain at the forefront of these efforts.

Judeh and Katz discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian territories and the Israeli continued attacks and emphasized the importance of a negotiated solution, leading to the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state, on the fourth of June 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the two-state solution.

They also tackled the situation in Syria and efforts to find a political solution to the crisis, expressing his appreciation for the U.S. support of the Kingdom to enable it to deal with the effects of hosting Syrian refugees and provide them with necessary services.

The U.S. senator expressed his country's appreciation and support for the pivotal role of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, to achieve security and stability in the region.
