(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The national population and housing census due to take place later this month will cover citizens, residents and those at the airport or travelling, said Department of Statistics (DoS) Director General Qassem Zu'bi.
He said in a lecture last night that the 2015 census will be a turning point in the gathering, analysis and classification of national statistical figures and data and will form the basis for all censuses, surveys and studies that the DoS will conduct in the future.
The census will, for the first time, use up-to-date techniques and technology that will yield accurate data, ensure direct field monitoring in collecting data and the speed of implementation and producing results, he pointed out.
Zu'bi stressed that the data will be confidential, adding that any employee leaking data will face up to six months in prison if he/she were proven guilty.
The census will serve all state entities and include data about health insurance, education and persons with disabilities, he said, urging the public to "act positively" with researchers and provide them with accurate information.
