Dubai Crown Prince s Office launches Innovation Strategy

DUBAI 23rd November 2015 (WAM) -- In line with the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum which aims to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world and in accordance with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council to support innovation the Office of H.H The Crown Prince of Dubai CPD has announced the launch of its strategy for innovation.

To achieve this vision the top management at CPD adopted its innovation strategy which is based on four pivots: the first focuses on individuals through supportive leadership for innovation in addition to the deployment of a culture of innovation raising competencies and motivating creative employees while the second pivot focuses on the technology through its optimal exploitation to generate ideas.

The third pivot focuses on partnerships and professional memberships related to innovation and the fourth would concentrate on operations and learning through better exploitation of the tools of innovation and creativity conducting benchmarking and implementing best practices. It would also likely apply policies and frameworks to support the work for innovation.

These directives have been translated into long-term and short-term goals and the office will be providing the resources and support needed to achieve the vision of CPD with respect to innovation.

Saif bin Markhan Ketbi Director-General of CPD said that the launch of the strategy comes in support of the vision of CPD considering innovation as the way to reach the top through leadership in the application of best practices and establishment of a work culture based on creativity and innovation that supports the achievement of desired goals.

The launch of this strategy coincides with Innovation Week the event in which the efforts of all government and private entities are combined to support the UAE's efforts to achieve global leadership in innovation and the translation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to declare 2015 as the year of innovation as well as the launch of the national strategy for innovation by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum which aim to contribute to the achievement of Vision 2021.
