Samsung C&T, Australia sign USD840m building contract


(MENAFN) Samsung C&T Corp., a South Korean builder, has inked a whopping USD840 million contract to engineer and construct the infrastructure of a massive road project in Australia.

The agreement signed with the New South Wales government calls for Samsung C&T to join the building of a 33 km long road that links the heart of Sydney to the state's southwestern region.

In more detail, According to the deal terms, the South Korean firm will be responsible of constructing nearly 30 percent of the road, which translates into around 9 km of the overall length.

Furthermore, this huge project is set to be finished by the end of 2019 according to the New South Wales government, plus it will insure deeper business ties between Australia and South Korea.
