Kuwait, Jordan ties grow deeper as investments hit USD12b

(MENAFN) Jordan considers Kuwait to be one of its top economic partners with nearly a whopping USD12 billion being invested by the rich Gulf nation in the Hashemite Kingdom, based on Jordan Investment Commission's data.

There are a number of elements contributing to the growing number of investors in Jordan, and in Kuwait's case; the strong relations linking the two nations played a vital role in luring Kuwaiti investors to the country.

Moreover, the Kuwait Fund for Arabic Economic Development (KFAED) also played a major role in Jordan's development; hence the loans from the fund had reached USD1.8 billion covering a vast majority of schemes.

Furthermore, the new investment law will provide an electronic gate for investors to register their licenses online, reflecting the keenness of Jordanian authorities on finding means to overcome obstacles facing Arab and foreign investors.
