OIC Condemns Raid by Militants on Hotel in Mali

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the raid by militants on a Hotel in Bamako, Mali, and the subsequent taking of the occupants as hostages, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Ameen Madani described the violence unleashed on innocent people resulting in at least twenty seven death as an act of terror.

He pointed out that the attack could only have been carried out by the enemies of peace whose designs are to clearly destabilize Mali and destroy the peace process following the signing on 20 June 2015 in Bamako of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement between the Government and the armed movements in the north, including some from Western countries, were killed.

Madani reiterated the commitment of the OIC to continue to support the parties signatories to the accord towards its speedy implementation as a way of isolating the terrorist groups.
