Turkey- Turkish jets bomb PKK targets in northern Iraq

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Turkish airstrikes in northern Iraq have destroyed shelters and supply depots of the PKK terrorist group the Turkish military said on Saturday.

In a statement on its website the Turkish General Staff said 22 jets destroyed 23 positions around Zap Avasin-Basyan Hakurk and Qandil on Friday night.

The air force also conducted raids on PKK positions in Turkey’s southeastern Sirnak province destroying bunkers and arms caches.

Meanwhile in Kilis province the military arrested 11 people including five children as they attempted to cross into Syria.

The PKK considered a terrorist organization by Turkey the U.S. and the EU renewed its armed campaign in late July. Since then more than 1700 PKK terrorists have been killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
