Qatar- Chandrika annual magazine released


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Chandrika annual magazine releasing ceremony held at the Grand Qatar Palace Hotel in Doha.

Doha: Indian Ambassador Sanjeev Arora and popular Indian writer M Mukundan jointly released the fourth edition of Chandrika annual Malayalam magazine recently. The magazine features short stories of renowned Qatari writers rendered into Malayalam one of the regional languages of Indian subcontinent.

The selected stories of Dr Huda Al Naemi Jamal Faiz Dr Ahmed Abdul Malik and Dalal Al Khalifa were translated by V Abdul Kabeer and Suhail Waqfi. Nine popular Qatari artists are also introduced in this edition with their paintings and caricatures by Indian artists.

Saudi historian and Associate Professor at Department of International Affairs at Qatar University Hatoon Ajwad Al Fassi received the first copy of the magazine.

P S H Thangal Vice-Chairman governing board of Chandrika Qatar presided over the meeting with Dr Abdel Aziz Hamad Al Uwaisheg GCC Assistant Secretary General for Foreign Affairs as the guest of honour.

Qatari writers Dr Ahmad Abdul Malik Jamal Faiz Dalal Al Khaleefa young Qatari photographers Hamad Salmari and Ameera Fareed translator of the widely read Malayalam novel Adujeevitham Suhail Waqvi were honoured. Mementos for Brigadier Abdullah khaleefa Al Muftha Director of Public Relations Ministry of Interior and Huda Al Naemi were received by Faisal Hudavi Community Reach Out Officer and Anjum Aziz respectively.

Ashraf Thooneri Resident Editor of Chandrika members of governing board Abdunassar Nachi and A P Abdurahiman attended.
