Kuwait- Netherlands says no to sending ground troops to Syria

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS Nov 19 (KUNA) -- Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders was quoted saying by Dutch media Thursday that his country will not send ground troops to fight ISIL in Syria arguing that one should not make the same mistake as was made in Iraq.He said that ISIL "is an intelligent movement which sets traps for us and we should not get caught. Send in ground troops? Then we would be making the same mistake as in Iraq. No this is the transformation of the Middle East and the Middle East has to do it. With our help of course" he said.The Netherlands is training Iraqi soldiers and carrying out bombing raids with F16s above Iraq Koenders pointed out.He did not rule out air bombings over Syria but said "I don't think it would be sensible for everyone to start flying around there."
