UN women club highlights Kuwait's leading humanitarian development roles

NEW YORK Nov 19 (KUNA) -- The UN women club highlighted in a celebration late Wednesday Kuwait's humanitarian and development roles.
Head of the UN women club Suad Al-Otaibi said that Kuwait's development and humanitarian roles were undeniable on the regional and global levels noting that Kuwait's through its Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) had become a beacon of hope for people around the world.
KFAED had provided around USD 18 billion in loans to help several developed and under-developed countries said the official.
On Kuwait's contributions to the international community's 17-point sustainable development plan Al-Otaibi said that KFAED had pledged around USD 15 billion to be used within a period of 15 years to help fund the plan adding that such gesture was reflective of Kuwaiti the generosity.
Furthermore Al-Otaibi noted that Kuwait had hosted three donors conference to help the Syrian refugees adding that a sum of 7.600 billion in which Kuwait contributed around USD 300 million was raised for this humanitarian cause. (end) mao.gta
