UK's EasyJet buys 36 Airbus jets at USD3.6b

(MENAFN) EasyJet, the British low-cost airline carrier based at London placed an order for a staggering total of 36 Airbus A320 jets worth a whopping USD3.8 billion, according to the latest reports.

The largest airline of the United Kingdom by number of passengers carried, has added another six firm orders for current-generation A320s, which are set to be delivered in 2018-21.

The giant airline will also take more options for 30 A320neo aircraft, taking its overall number of options to 100, and this is all driven by its ongoing robust trading and high demand.

"These aircraft will offer increased flexibility in fleet planning, lower overall unit costs and ensure EasyJet can continue to grow past 2019 to support increasing total shareholder returns," stated the airline.
