Kuwait Justice Minister affirms Kuwait Egyptian ties deeply bonded


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO Nov 18 (KUNA) -- The visiting Kuwait Minister of Justice Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea has re-affirmed that the relations between Kuwait and Egypt are deep at the official and popular levels.The minister in a statement after visiting the venue of the "8th Kuwaiti week" in Egypt themed "Kuwait in Egypt" re-affirmed that the two countries and peoples are linked with close and brotherly ties.He lauded the fair that grouped some 70 Kuwaiti and Egyptian companies representing the private and public sectors.Earlier Kuwaiti figures underscored necessity of continuous cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt at the official and public levels. Fatmah Ahmad Al-Amir the general director of the Martyr's Bureau and the assistant undersecretary at the Amiri Diwan noted in a statement to KUNA the close bonds between Kuwait and Egypt that existed since fall of Egyptian soldiers who had sacrificed their souls while taking part in the Kuwaiti resistance against "the Saddami aggression in 1990." Egyptian troops had taken part in the wide-scale military campaign that drove the occupation forces of Saddam Hussein's defunct Iraqi regime out of the country in 1991.Rania Al-Koh the public relations monitor at the Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission said the holding of the fair depicts the deep-rooted ties that have been bonding the Kuwaitis with the Egyptians.Abdullah Al-Shahin a Kuwaiti businessman said number of Kuwaiti companies operating in Egypt has reached 979 with an accumulated capital of USD seven billion.The "Kuwait week" has been held for eight consecutive years.Meanwhile the chairman of the Egyptian radio-television federation Issam Al-Amir lauded the ever-developing ties between Kuwait and Egypt particularly in the media sector. He was speaking to KUNA as he emerged from a meeting with the head of "Sawt Al-Arab" media network Dr. Lamia Mahmoud and a visiting delegation of the Kuwait Journalists Association taking part in the fair.
