QRC signs pact with Kuwaiti counterpart


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) signed yesterday a bilateral co-operation agreement with its Kuwaiti counterpart for supporting Syrians affected by the crisis in their country.
The agreement is the initial step to unify and co-ordinate humanitarian efforts of Gulf national societies towards Syrians in accordance with the decisions of the GCC Red Crescent Societies' senior officials.
The agreement was signed by QRC's Secretary-General Saleh bin Ali al-Mohannadi and Dr Musaed Rashid al-Anzi of Kuwait Red Crescent Society.
The agreement aims to implement joint ventures in medical care and winter relief for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Under the agreement heating fuel, blankets, winter clothing and medicines will be distributed to the refugees and their camps will be equipped to cope with cold weather. Besides, water of three wells will be refined and 50,000 litres of clean drinking water will be provided every day.
Nearly 4,000 displaced Syrian families are expected to benefit from these projects.
