(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Vice President Joe Biden spoke with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional President Masoud Barzani on Tuesday to congratulate him on the Kurdish Peshmerga success against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Sinjar.
The leaders, "praised cooperation between the coalition and Peshmerga forces and underscored the United States' strong commitment to working with the global coalition, the Government of Iraq, and the Kurdistan Regional Government to continue to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIL," a White House statement revealed.
The leaders agreed on the importance of close cooperation and emphasized that pressure will continue on ISIL in the months to come.
