(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Nov. 17 (Petra) -- Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East Gong Xiao Sheng said Tuesday Beijing is concerned about the growing and ongoing conflicts in the region and called for further efforts to find political solutions to regional issues.
The envoy told a press conference at the Chinese embassy in Amman that China and Jordan are on the same page regarding various Middle East issues and developments.
There is no alternative to a political and diplomatic solution to the region's crises Sheng said stressing that the military option would neither bring peace and security nor eradicate terrorism.
China and Jordan see eye to eye on the Palestinians issue which is at the core of the conflict in the region he said.
He said Sino-Jordanian relations are remarkably developing at all levels and that there are broad prospects for further cooperation between the two countries in the future.
The answer to the conflicts in the region is in the hands of the regional countries he stressed adding that Arabs had the ability and wisdom to address their own problems without relying on proposals by others.
Commenting on an international meeting in Vienna on Syria the envoy said it was too soon to judge the outcomes but the world recognizes the importance of resolving the Syrian issue as soon as possible.
He said that the terrorist attacks in Paris and Beirut should be given due attention and prompt the international community to reach agreement on terrorism and find political solutions to the key issues.
