Kuwait- Moscow admits terrorist act behind air crash in Egypt


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW Nov 17 (KUNA) -- Russian authorities have admitted that the Russian plane crash in Egypt's Red Sea city of Sharm El-Sheikh on October 31 was due to a terrorist act.The Russian plane crash in Sinai Egypt was caused by a terrorist attack as traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage of the plane Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Aleksandr Bortnikov said in a report to President Vladimir Putin."We can say that that Sinai plane crash was a terror act" Bortnikov said adding that experts analyzed passengers' belongings as well as the parts of the plane."After the examination on all these objects we have found traces of a foreign-made explosive substance" Bortnikov said.The Russian passenger plane crashed over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt on October 31 killing all 224 people on board.Putin has vowed to find and punish the attackers who brought down the Metrojet plane."We will search for them anywhere they might hide. We will find them in any part of the world and punish them" Putin told a meeting with security agencies.Meanwhile the FSB on Tuesday pledged to pay USD 50 million for information about the "terrorists" who brought down the plane in Sinai last month and appealed for help in identifying them."There will be a reward of USD 50 million for information helping to arrest the criminals" the security agency said.
