Qatar- HE the Prime Minister Visits Arab World Institute


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani today visited the Arab World Institute (AWI) in Paris.

HE the Premier was welcomed upon arrival by AWI President Jack Lang and a number of senior officials.

HE the Prime Minister and the AWI President reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation, especially in the scientific and cultural spheres, and means to promote this cooperation. They also exchanged views on a host of topics of mutual interest.

Touring the AWI, HE the Prime Minister was briefed on its different departments and the library which comprise rare books from the Arab World. He also toured the AWI museum which displays a collection rare manuscripts and antiques from different Arab countries.

At the end of the visit, HE the Prime Minister praised the AWI as one of the important centers for disseminating the Arab culture and civilization and presenting them to the publics in France, Europe and the world, through the large number of artistic, literary and intellectual events organized by the Institute. He expressed Qatar's appreciation to the AWI mission.

AWI was founded in 1980 by 18 Arab countries with France to research and disseminate information about the Arab world and its cultural and spiritual values.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior paid the visit, along with Their Excellences members of the accompanying official delegation.
