UAE- Emirati Quran memorisers participate in Saudi Arabia

DUBAI 16th November 2015 (WAM) -- Three Emirati Quran memorisers have participated in the five-day King Abdul Aziz International Holy Quran Award held in Makkah from November 7th-11th.

The 37th edition of the contest saw stiff competition from full Quran memorisers from Arab and Islamic countries and the performance of the UAE competitors as nominated by the Dubai International Holy Quran AwardDIHQA was exceptional.

Prof. Mohammed Abdulrahim Sultan-al-Ulama Head of DIHQA Competitions Unit said the Dubai International Holy Quran Award has proudly participated in the Saudi competition with three competent competitors.

"Contestant Ahmed Abdullah Abdurrahman was competing in the branch of 'Full Quran and Word Explanation' Salem Humaid Al Suwaidi was challenging in the branch of 'Full Quran' and Mohammed Abdul Salam Mohammed Saleh was contending in the '15-Juza' section."

The Dubai International Holy Quran Award was not only participating with three competitors but also attended the 6th arbitration training course which was held on the sidelines of the King Abdul Aziz International Holy Quran Award he added.

Paying tributes to winners Prof. Sultan-al-Ulama said the UAE contestants managed to secure advanced positions in the award. "Ahmed Abdullah Abdurrahman came ninth in the first branch of 'Full Quran and Word Explanation' while Mohammed Abdul Salam ranked sixth in the third branch of '15-Juza' section.

Last month the Dubai International Holy Quran Award DIHQA participated for the first time ever in the Moscow International Holy Quran Award held at the Grand Mosque in the Russian capital from October 8th-13th.
