Workshop discusses young drivers' safety


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) A workshop on the safety of young drivers and beginners, was held yesterday, ahead of the 24th International Traffic Medicine Association (ITMA) Congress, which begins today.
In his welcome address, Brig. Mohamed Abdullah al-Malki described the workshop as an opportunity to discuss the accidents caused by young drivers and beginners in the age category of 15€22 and also find solutions by the experts for prevention of accidents. Dr Wafa al-Yazidi, chairperson of the scientific committee of the Congress said the workshop was presented by a group of 60 international and local experts. They discussed in their working papers topics related to inspiring young drivers in Qatar and Gulf countries for safe driving.
Prof Dr Brian Fields, assistant professor at Accident Research Centre in Monash University in Australia presided at the workshop.
