GCC sets plans for humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in winter


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Gulf Cooperation Council's Permanent Committee for the Coordinating Humanitarian Aid discussed Sunday the mechanism of joint programs for humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon in winter.
In a press statement, the GCC General Secretariat said that the representatives of the Red Crescent societies in the member states have taken part in the meeting.
It added that the conferees mulled the humanitarian aid plans for Syrians in the winter season.
The plans included projects for treating water in Al-Beqaa province and supporting agricultural production in the areas which host the Syrian refugees, it pointed out.
The conferees also reviewed the Gulf countries' humanitarian action in Yemen.
