Security threat level increased in Belgium


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Belgian authorities have decided to lift the terror alert to 3 from the current 2 (on a scale from 1 to 4) for big events in Belgium, where many people are coming together.
According to Belgian media reports Sunday, this was decided after a new analysis made by the Body for the Coordination and Analysis of Threats.
The army could be deployed now at major events, such as a cultural or sports events in the country.
Meanwhile, the investigation into Fridayآ's Paris attacks has been extended to Belgium as there were also 3 Belgian victims.
Belgian police on Saturday carried out house searches in the Molenbeek district of Brussels, and arrested three suspects. No details were given about the identity of the three suspects.
Belgian Justice Minister Koen Geens was quoted saying that it was a car with a Belgian number plate parked in front of the French concert hall Bataclan in Paris that led to the raids Molenbeek where a large Arab and Muslim community lives.
