New York: The New York City Police Department tightened security at the French consulate and French mission in response to the Paris attacks and cops were on "high alert" Mayor de Blasio said Friday.
"There are no specific threats directed at New York City that we know of at this time but we are monitoring very very closely the situation with our federal partners and obviously with the folks we have in Paris" the mayor said.
The NYPD said in a statement its intelligence bureau in France was already working with Parisian officials while keeping Commissioner Bill Bratton updated on the developing situation.
"The NYPD is in close touch with our French police counterparts as well as our FBI partners here" the statement said.
"Specific deployments at French government locations in New York City were made immediately after the attacks" the statement concluded
Paris was rocked by a bloody and multi-pronged attack Friday night that targeted crowded restaurants and bars as well as a concert hall and a soccer stadium killing 120 at least.
