UAE- GCC Chief meets FAO representative

RIYADH 12th November 2015 (WAM) -- Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani today received Al-Mahdi Al-Idrissy Alternate Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in the United Arab Emirates and Coordinator of the Sub-regional Office for the GCC states and Yemen.
Bahrain News Agency BNA reported that the meeting which was held at GCC General-Secretariat in Riyadh focused on joint cooperation with the UN agency to achieve food security commending FAO-led efforts in this field.
He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation to benefit from FAO advocacy programmes and services so as to achieve the UN sustainable development goals.
