Jordan- Prime Minister meets Cypriot President


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Wednesday evening, met with Cypriot President, Nicos Anastasiades, and discussed enhancing bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region, particularly the Palestinian issue and the Syrian crisis.

During the meeting, which was attended by senior officials in both countries, the prime minister stressed keenness to increase bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, tourism and energy field.

The prime minister said Jordan and Cyprus have many commonalities and sahre the same visions and attitudes towards the Palestinian issue, the Syrian crisis and the war on terrorism.

He added that both countries would contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.

Cypriot President stressed said his visit constitutes evidence of a common determination to strengthen bilateral relations and strong cooperation in the interest of the two countries.

Also, he stressed Cyprus' keenness to achieve security and stability "to our neighbors in the region."

He expressed his appreciation for opening a Jordanian embassy in Nicosia next year, stressing that it is a step forward in supporting the interests of the two friendly countries.
