UAE to host global summit We Protect Children Online

ABU DHABI 12th November 2015 (WAM) -- Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces the United Arab Emirates will host the 2nd session of the global summit 'We Protect Children Online' which is being organised by the Ministry of the Interior in Abu Dhabi on 16th and 17th of November.

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior stressed the keenness of the UAE's leadership to provide all means of enhancing the protection of children from all risks by following the best advanced international standards in this area referring to the country's commitment to the global collective approach to protect children from those who exploit them online and to ensure justice for all child victims both in their own concerned countries or at the global level.

He said that the UAE's hosting of the summit reflects the world's confidence in its efforts in the field of child protection and enhances the international community's cooperation in the development of necessary plans and programmes for this issue expressing his hope that the summit would achieved aspirations to unify global efforts for childhood care and protection.

More than 50 countries will participate in the summit in which they will unify their efforts to discuss the development of mechanisms for joint action to ensure the identification and protection of victims and prevent the misuse of the Internet as a means of exploitation of children.
