UAE- Longlist Announced for Zayed Award in Children's Literature category

Abu Dhabi 11th November 2015 (WAM)The Sheikh Zayed Book Award (SZBA) announced today its long list for the Children's Literature category in its tenth cycle.

The Longlist consists of 8 children's books and 4 adolescent's as follows: "waraqat al qaiqab al hamraa" (The red maple leaf) authored by Fatima Sharafeddine from Lebanon "Ta'er al warwar" (The bee-eater) by Hassan Abdallah from Lebanon "al haqiba al 'ajiba" (The wondrous school bag) by Omima Ezzedine from Egypt "Ahlam" (Dreams) by Jaleel Khazaal from Iraqi "Qissa awwalha wa Akherha Kahayal" (A story with an imaginary beginning and ending) by Sonia Nimr from Palestine "Ayna zahabat Noura" (where did Noura go?) by Mona Otaibi from Saudi Arabia "Akhdar asfar" (Green..yellow) by Bayan Safadi from Syria and "eed fi ibreeq" (fest in a jug) by Nouf Alosaimi from Saudi Arabia.

The list also included four Adolescents' Titles: "mamlakat al qurood" (kingdom of apes) by Badar Al Hamdani from Oman "al bahth 'an al saqr ghannam"( Looking for Ghannam the falcon) by Lina Al Hassan Hawyan from Syria "hikawati ma' al kalimat" (my story with the words) by Jordanian/Palestinian author Munir Fashah and Massasoo al hibr" (Ink vampires) by Ibrahim Farghali from Egypt.

Last week the award announced 12 titles selected under the Arts and Literary Criticism Award Longlist. The announcements will continue on a weekly basis for the remaining awards.
