Ali, Amna claim Qatar ExxonMobil Junior titles


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ali al-Mohmoud defeated Ibrahim al-Sulaiti in the under-14 boys' final to win the 2015 Qatar ExxonMobil Junior Tennis Tournament.
Amna Homoud won the girls' under-14 title defeating as Dana al-Modahka.
Saeed al-Kuwari claimed the title of Under-8 boys' event, while Fahd al-Khelaifi settled for the second place. In girls' Under-8 event, Safiya al-Thani won the title. Al-Anoud al-Thani came second. Nasser Hemaidi won the Under-9 boys' event as Nasser al-Khelaifi finished second.
Jassim al-Mahmoud won the gold of Under-12 Boys event and Hamad Khalid al-Mohannadi took the silver medal.
The tournament was organised by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in which 50 players took part. The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by the QTF executive director Saad al-Mohannadi, vice-president and joint venture terminals asset manager for ExxonMobil Nasser al-Kuwari, the QTF head of National Teams Committee Ibrahim al-Khelaifi and tournament director Sultan Khalfan.
The Saad al-Mohannadi stressed that this junior tournament is one of the most prominent events of QTF's calendar and considered as a preparation stage for our national teams player to go through upcoming competitions.
"The tournament also reflects the strong partnership between QTF and ExxonMobil Qatar the tournament reflects the successful partnership between QTF and ExxonMobil Qatar" added al -Mohannadi.
Al-Mohannadi also lauded the role played by ExxonMobil to support the sport in the country especially tennis as they are the main sponsor of Qatar ExxonMobil Open.
Nasser al-Kawari was delighted by the success of the event and said: "In ExxonMobil is keen on providing the opportunities for the Qatari youth to participate in the sports competitions".
