China's inflation slumps to 1.3 percent in Oct

(MENAFN) Based on data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China's consumer price index (CPI) which is the main measure of inflation climbed 1.3 percent y-o-y in October.

The result wasn't a surprise as the world's second largest economy faces its worst economic plunge, affecting it broadly in all its involved sectors and industries, let alone impacting the whole world.

The slowdown was mainly driven by declining pork and vegetable prices due to plenty supplies, thus food prices, which account for nearly one-third of weighting in China's CPI, fell 1 percent from Sep.
