UAE- Emirates Post Group supports Sharjah St Exhibition 2015

DUBAI 10th November 2015 (WAM) -- Emirates Post Group extended its full support to the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition 2015 hosted by Mega Mall Sharjah and organised by the Emirates Philatelic Association from November 3rd - 7th as part of its activities on Sharjah's selection as Arab Tourism Capital 2015.

As well as putting up a stand displaying and selling stamps of the UAE Emirates Post Group created special postmarks promoting the exhibition not only in the UAE but also in Saudi Arabia Bahrain and Kuwait whose postal administrations also supported the leading annual event. The exhibition attracted more than 50 leading stamp collectors and nearly 30 dealers who displayed some of their most valuable collections.

"It was great to see so many philatelists and stamp dealers displaying their unique collections. More importantly we are pleased to celebrate the Arab Tourism Capital 2015 title bestowed on Sharjah the emirate that has always supported culture and art."

The exhibition was held on the occasion of Sharjah's selection as the Arab Tourism Capital 2015. The event highlighted the history of postal services in the UAE and other parts of the world. Visitors also had the opportunity to view Arab and international postage albums and to examine the stamps that in their designs marks and perforations reflecting the stories of the Islamic Arab and International civilisations since the postage stamp was first used in the region.
