UAE- Patriotic and dutiful he loved his family

Abdullah Hamad Ali Saeed Al Siraidi father of martyr Khalifa spoke at length about his son who died while fighting with the UAE armed forces in Yemen as part of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to restore the legitimate government in the "Operation Restoring Hope".

The soft-spoken Abdullah desperately tried to hold back tears as he described his son as dutiful devout and supportive a loving father to his children and a great brother to his siblings.

The 53-year-old man is known to the residents of Diba Al Hala as father of a large number of children - 17 in all - 13 boys and five girls. His wife and mother of Khalifa failed to hide her love for her departed son.

Khalifa was loved by everybody in the village and all see him as a mature family man and army officer and dependable on many things.

'He lived as a child and died as a child with his clean innermost feelings truthfulness and quietness - qualities which had uniquely distinguished him from others" said his grieved mother Halima Mattar Saeed Ibrahim.

Khalifa Abdullah Hamad Ali Saeed was born on January 24 1986 at Diba Al Hala locality of Fujairah. Something remained in his heart and mind since he was a child - his dreams grew as he grew his personality was strong and distinctive.

Khalifa and his siblings led a difficult life just like the rest of the inhabitants of the village which lacked comforts especially during winter.

He was admitted to Al Hala primary school before he moved to the neighboring Diba Fujairah where he spend one year in basic education at the Diba Fujairah School for boys.

Khalifa chose his own wife. His spouse was of Emirati father and Indian mother and lived in Dhidna Fujairah. The family soon set up their home in Diba Fujairah where Khalifa lived with his wife and three children.

Parting from his family was only geographically as he visited them often. He helped his parents financially by giving his mother a sum of money every month.

Khalifa was a nature lover and always took his children to visit the family farm to look after the plants and animals and have a good time amidst the gorgeous scenes.

A young Khalifa was passionate about mental games away from violence and commotion. His hobby was playing chess in which he outsmarted his brothers and friends. He was quiet and always remained focus. As a loving and supportive father he was very close to his three children - Zayed 4; Majid 3; and Gala 2.
