Organized by NoufEXPO and CAIT, Fortinet is a Platinum Sponsor at EGOV3

(MENAFN- Al-Anbaa) Firtinet, the global leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions today announced its participation as a platinum sponsor at 3rd E-Government Forum (EVO3) which runs from November 15 -17 at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel in Kuwait. The event, patronized by His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, is a premier e-government gathering in Kuwait and the region. "Kuwait Information Network (KIN), the communications backbone of Kuwait's e-government implementation is secured by Fortinet's products and services. As partners in Kuwait's e-government program, we are delighted to be part of this prestigious technology event that is organized by NoufEXPO and the Central Agency for Information Technology," said Alain Penel, Regional Vice President- Middle East at Fortinet.

Mr. Penel was commenting on Fortinet's participation at the 3rd E-Government forum. He continued to say, "The Company will mark this edition by three key moments. During my keynote on November 15th, I will present Fortinet's vision and the company's strategy and security solutions that meet the current and future challenges for RSSI in the public sector. Mr. Osama Abduo, Systems Engineer- Middle East, will highlight the major problems that put networks at risk from modern threats, and will discuss how to avoid them, with a combination of increasing user awareness, optimizing and deploying the latest technologies. Kalle Bjorn, Director, Systems Engineering - Middle East, in his turn, will discuss the anatomy and lifecycle of a threat, and will provide a look at a multi-layered approach to combating advanced persistent threats."

"Today's most damaging attacks are Advanced Persistent Threats. Cybercrime is no longer random or about brute force, it's more subtle - aiming to infiltrate, stay hidden, and extract data without detection. If security controls cannot detect the malware during this period, then it's a matter of time before the organizations or governments become a statistic." said Alain Penel, Regional Vice President- Middle East at Fortinet. "Governments need high-performance cyber security solutions to combat threats. Their needs are unique due to the sensitive nature of the data they protect and the systems they operate; privacy and security requirements imposed by the laws. Through our participation at the EVO3 forum, we are emphasizing our support for Kuwait's E-Government initiative, and are committed to helping institutions in the country tackle the growing threat landscape. We are proud of the role that we play in Kuwait Information Network and the Central Agency for Information Technology. However, Fortinet's portfolio of customers in Kuwait includes other government and public sector agencies as well as large enterprises, education, and the banking and finance institutions.

Concluding his statement, Mr. Penel said that he, and the Fortinet team, is looking forward to meeting technology leaders and professionals during EGOV3. He hoped that they will be able to share with the audience Fortinet's commitment to the region and why more than 210,000 customers worldwide, including some of the largest and most complex organizations, trust Fortinet to protect their brands and businesses.
