(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The revenue from the last day of the Traffic Department's third online auction on 38 different number plates has reached up to QR14mn, local Arabic daily Al Sharq reported on Friday.
The auction, conducted through "Metrash2" service, was launched on Tuesday noon and concluded on Thursday after extending the deadline for online bidding by one hour.
The number "333331" went for QR1.12mn and other numbers ranged between QR216,000 and 996,000. For bidders to qualify for the auction, they had to submit a security deposit of QR20,000, and bidding started at QR100,000.
The successful bidders should claim their number after two days from the closure of the bidding process and pay the due sum at the Traffic Department.
In case a successful bidder relinquish his right to the number, or did not complete the purchase process within the designated time, his right to the number will be dropped and he would lose the security deposit, the daily added.
