(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The crew of Omani ship Sultanate has visited Katara € the Cultural Village, its fourth stop in a GCC co-operation voyage.
Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti accompanied the crew on a tour of the Cultural Village and its facilities and also introduced them to the upcoming projects there.
Dr al-Sulaiti lauded the cultural co-operation between Katara and Oman and referred to the Fath Al Khair 2 voyage, during which the traditional dhow docked in Oman's Sur port on its way to India and would halt at Muscat during the return trip to Doha.
He also appreciated the reception ceremony organised in Oman for the captain and crew of Fath Al Khair 2.
Speaking on the visit to Katara, the ship's captain, Commodore Saif bin Nasser al-Rahabi, said: "We are really proud to visit this cultural edifice. It is a cultural landmark for Qatar and the GCC countries as well."
The Omani ship docked in Doha port while carrying youngsters from GCC states and affiliates of nine foreign countries - the UK, Germany, Hungary, Australia, Uruguay, South Africa, the Netherlands, Canada and Czech Republic - on board.
On his part, Oman's ambassador Mohamed bin Nasser al-Wahaibi lauded the efforts of Katara and the reception given to the ship's crew.
At the end of the Omani delegation's visit, Dr al-Sulaiti presented a memorial shield to the captain of the ship.
