Arab League chief calls for ending Israeli occupation


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby called for an end to the Israeli occupation of Arab land.
In a statement following a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Al-Araby urged intensifying efforts to end the Israeli occupation.
There are clear-cut UN Security Council resolutions demanding Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian land, illegal settlement activities, but Israel so far digs heel in, he said.
The Arab League chief added that he has discussed with the Palestinian President coordinating Arab efforts to deal with the current standoff and the future diplomatic plans to press for the Palestinian demand of ending occupation and establishing an independent state.
