Thousands gather to welcome UAE soldiers returning from Yemen

Thousands of men women and children converged on Sila-Abu Dhabi highway to welcome one batch of the UAE Armed Forces that returned from Yemen after performing their national duty in 'Operation Restoring Hope'.

A large-scale turnout was seen on the highway where at various locations people came out to give warm welcome to their brave sons for performing their job successfully.

- Khaleej Times (khaleejtimes) November 7 2015 The largest gathering was seen at Ruwais which is home to Abu Dhabi's oil and gas industry. Over 2000 people were chanting slogans to welcome soldiers of the UAE Armed Forces.

A large convoy of military trucks carrying heavy vehicles guns and other hardware passed through the main Sila-Abu Dhabi highway where local communities showered rose petals on them.

The local communities came out in large numbers in other towns of Mirfa and Taarif also.

The people gathered there raised welcoming placards to greet the soldiers who bravely took part in the Yemen war where they successfully restored peace and law and order and the legitimate government of President Hadi.

- Khaleej Times (khaleejtimes) November 7 2015 The GCC decided to support the Yemen which was drifting into a serious crisis of its existence in which they were highly successful as they rooted out Houthi rebellion.

An Emirati Salem Al Katheeri who was welcoming the brave soldiers with his family said:" Our brave Young men laid their lives to defend the national interest."

In one tragic incident alone 62 young UAE Armed Forces' soldiers embraced martyrdom which is a big contribution to the peace and security of the region said Abdulla Al Dhaheri.

At Ruwais people had started gathering on the streets at 7.00am and military conveys emerged at around 8.00am.
