(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday, met with member of Israeli Knesset and head of the Jerusalem Committee of the Joint Arab List at the Knesset, Ahmad Tibi and the accompanying delegation.
At the meeting, which was attended by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Daoud and Minister of Higher Education Labib Al Khadra, Ensour highlighted efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to defend the Palestinian issue at all regional and international forums.
He also pointed to the King's efforts as custodian of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, to support Jerusalem as well as citizens against the continued Israeli violations.
Ensour instructed the awqaf minister to improve services to Palestinian pilgrims including those inside the Green Line, adding that the government will work to improve services at bridges and border crossing.
Tibi highlighted efforts of His Majesty to support the Palestinian issue and pointed to the role that could be played by Jordan to pressure Israel to change its policies and end violations against the Palestinians.
